Our story

A small beginning with a big purpose

Batlareng Football Club is an amateur community team founded in 2024 and based in Slagboom, North West Province.

The club began when a group of talented young boys approached Tumelo Mantsha and asked him to sponsor their team. He saw their passion and determination. Although he did not have a large budget or outside funding, he decided to share whatever little he had and give their dreams a chance.

Today, Batlareng FC is a place where young boys can feel supported, develop their talent and learn the value of discipline, respect and teamwork.

From the Chairman

Why I chose to believe

This journey started when a group of talented boys approached me and asked if I could sponsor them. I could see how much football meant to them and how strongly they believed in their talent.

I did not have a lot to offer, but I decided that I would share whatever little I had with them. Since then, I have continued funding the team from my own pocket because I believe these boys deserve an opportunity to grow and pursue their dreams.

Batlareng FC is about more than football. It is about giving young boys hope, keeping them focused and showing them that someone believes in them. We may be a small amateur club, but our dreams are big.

Batlareng FC is currently supported through the Chairman’s personal contribution. We welcome businesses, community groups and individuals who would like to help our young players keep training, travelling and competing.

Support does not have to be large to make a difference. A pair of boots, a meal on match day or help with transport can give a player another reason to believe in what is possible.
